A SPA WEEKEND WITH THE FAMILY…
Often when people think of a relaxing spa weekend they often think of a weekend without the kids, in a tranquil place in peace. Well not me, but didn’t mean i couldn’t get a chance to dip in the pool and have a massage. It just meant when i got back my babies were there waiting for me, but it was ok i was energised.
Finding a place that would be suitable for my children was the tricky part. What i wanted was a place where i could get away from the busy city London life to somewhere quite and picturesque. And we found just the place. And only 2 hours away.
This place was the perfect luxurious retreat. With lodges ideal with a family. Set in a picturesque setting, surrounded by greenery and a beautiful lake. And i have to mention the cute little bunnies running around in the fields.
The lodges are contemporary with a country feel and eco-friendly. The open plan living is amazing with glass panels looking out to views of the lake. My favourite was the raised private decking area where you could just sit, play music and enjoy a cup of tea and stare at the views while the kids play.
On our first day we decided to enjoy high tea whilst looking out on to the golf course. The boys loved the strawberries and cream set on shortcake.
Swimming was allowed with boys after 5pm but this was enough to cool the boys down after a long warm day.
The resort was perfect to go with a large group and luckily i went with my sisters so that they could babysit whilst i had the perfect massage.
I also loved the fact you could have room service brought to your lodge so you didn’t have to cook. We did travel out to a local farm to buy freshly made herb bread and fresh fruit which was amazing.
The great thing about the lodge was that it was only half an hour away from Colchester Zoo which was a perfect stop off when driving back to London. So our weekend break was enough to keep both adults happy and the babes.
Views of the golf course.
Luay practising his walking skills with grandma.
Let there be cake. And we indulge in English afternoon tea.
Sweet tooth like mamma.
